Marcus Joseph gave the Carleton Place Canadians the lead in the first period, and the Pembroke Lumber Kings was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 1-0.

Carleton Place took over the lead for good with a goal by Joseph at 15:14 in the first period.

The win by the Canadians broke a deadlock and gave Carleton Place a 2-1 advantage in the best of seven series.

The Canadians were led by Joseph, who racked up one goal.

Carleton Place excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Colton Point made 22 saves for the Canadians on 22 shots. Carleton Place incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Boyd Diclemente recorded 23 saves for Pembroke. The Lumber Kings incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
