Ottawa rips Kemptville, 4-1

The Kemptville 73s had trouble finding ways to stop the Ottawa Senators, which beat 73s, 4-1.

After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, Kemptville faces elimination next time out.

Ottawa was led by Mitchell Gibson, who finished with one goal and one assist. Gibson scored on the power play 16:08 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Ottawa. A holding penalty on Liam Watson had put the Senators on the power play. Jody Sullivan assisted on the tally.

The 73s were unable to stop Ottawa from sending pucks towards the net, and the Senators eventually piled up 45 shots on goal. Ottawa was ineffective while on the power play, as it was held to one goal off of nine man advantages.

Ottawa additionally got points from Daniel Sarracco, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Sullivan, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Evan Lindquist also scored for Ottawa. More assists for Ottawa came via Hunter Gunski, Luke McCaw, Zacharie Car, and Geoffrey Lawson, who contributed one each.

Kemptville was led by Matt Tugnutt, who scored the team's only goal. Tugnutt scored on the power play 16:42 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Ottawa. The 73s earned a power play opportunity when Jaren Burke was put in the box for roughing. Victor Tracy picked up the assist.

Ian Andriano rejected 20 shots on goal for the Senators. Ottawa incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Nicholas Hodgins recorded 41 saves for Kemptville. The 73s incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
