Leamington blows out St. Marys, 10-2

The St. Marys Lincolns had trouble finding ways to stop the Leamington Flyers, which beat Lincolns, 10-2.

After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, St. Marys faces elimination next time out.

Leamington got the win with help from a great game by Liam Hogan, who had one goal and two assists. Hogan scored 8:59 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Leamington. Derek Elliott picked up the assist.

The Flyers' penalty kill excelled, as Leamington gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

The Flyers forced the Lincolns goalie Paul Town to work between the pipes, taking 46 shots.

Leamington also got points from Aaron Langlois, who also had two goals and two assists to lead the team in points, Cale Phibbs, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Colin Moore, who also registered two goals and one assist, and Mitchell Amante, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Leamington also got a goal from Joe Urbanic as well. In addition, Leamington received assists from Mitchell Crevatin, who had two, Mark Manchurek, who had three, and Jacob McGhee, Scott Emerson, Matthew Opblinger, and Thomas Virban, who contributed one each.

St. Marys was helped by Nathan Smith, who racked up one goal. Smith scored on the power play 6:34 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Leamington. The Lincolns had gotten the advantage when Leamington's Manchurek was sent off for roughing. Jordan Winter assisted on the tally. Graham Brulotte also scored for St. Marys. Other players who recorded assists for St. Marys were Nolan King, who had one.

Michael Barrett made 16 saves for the Flyers on 18 shots. Leamington incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Town recorded 36 saves for St. Marys. The Lincolns incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
