Leamington rolls over St. Marys, 4-0

The Leamington Flyers were firing on all cylinders against the St. Marys Lincolns, and when the final buzzer sounded Flyers emerged with a 4-0 win.

The win gave Leamington a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Scott Emerson had two goals to lead the Flyers to victory. Emerson's tallies came at 16:24 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Leamington and on the power play 9:12 into the third to make the score 4-0 Leamington.

Leamington's offense rang up 53 shots on St. Marys' net.

Zach Guilbeault also scored for Leamington. In addition, Leamington received assists from Joe Urbanic, Colin Moore, and David Storey, who contributed one each and Mark Manchurek and Cale Phibbs, who each chipped in two.

The Flyers' defense shut down the Lincolns' forwards for much of the game, and St. Marys got off only 11 shots during the contest.

Tyler Wall made 11 saves for Leamington on 11 shots. The Flyers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Emanuel Vella rejected 49 shots on goal for the Lincolns. St. Marys incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
