Sarnia outlasts LaSalle, 4-3

The win by Sarnia broke a deadlock and gave Sarnia a three-two advantage in the best of seven series.

The teams traded the lead four times and neither team could skate away and hide.

Legionnaires were sparked by Ryan Trottier, who grabbed one goal. Trottier scored in overtime to make the score 4-3 Sarnia. Hunter Tyczynski assisted on the tally.

Sarnia kept LaSalle's goalie busy throughout the game, and Eli Billing made 40 saves on 44 shots.

Sarnia also had goals scored by Alec DeKoning, Jordan Fogarty, and Brendan Shagena, who each put in one. In addition, Sarnia received assists from Tyczynski, who had two and Nash Nienhuis, Derrick Johnson, Eric Marsh, and Brad Yowart, who each chipped in one.

Vipers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Legionnaires to score on any of their four power plays.LaSalle kept Sarnia's goalie busy throughout the game, and Shayne Battler made 46 saves on 49 shots.

Vipers were helped by Liam MacDougall, who racked up one goal and one assist.MacDougall scored short handed in the second period to make the score 3-2 LaSalle. Manny Silverio claimed the first assist on the goal, and Brett Banwell got the second.LaSalle additionally got points from Silverio, who also registered one goal and one assist. LaSalle also got a goal from Eric Kirby as well. More assists for LaSalle came via Zack Hoffman, Clay Kraynack, Tyler Russell, and Banwell, who contributed one apiece.

Legionnaires incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. LaSalle incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
