The Sarnia Legionnaires climbed out of a two-goal hole to beat the LaSalle Vipers, 4-3. Sarnia let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. The Legionnaires took a 1-0 advantage on a goal by Alec DeKoning at 1:57 in the first period. Sarnia went down 3-1 after LaSalle's Brett Primeau put the puck home at 7:15 in the third period. After knotting things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Jarret Marks at 12:00 in the third, the Legionnaires got the game-winner from Derrick Johnson at 16:22 in the third period. With the win, Sarnia evened the series at 1-1 in the best of seven showdown. The Legionnaires got the win behind a great game by DeKoning, who had two goals and two assists. Sarnia's offense rang up 33 shots on the Vipers' net. Sarnia also got points from Johnson, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Marks, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, Sarnia received assists from Ryan Trottier, Joey Zappa, and Konnor Roskovich, who contributed one each. LaSalle kept the Legionnaires' goalie busy throughout the game, and Shayne Battler made 33 saves on 36 shots. Tyler Russell also scored for LaSalle. Other players who recorded assists for LaSalle were Eric Kirby, who had two and Cale Allen, Connor Rosaasen, and Blake Jones, who each chipped in one. Sarnia incurred 86 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Eli Billing made 29 saves for the Vipers on 33 shots. LaSalle incurred 64 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
