Huge game by Fargey boosts Trenton over Newmarket, 6-2Duncan Memorial Wed, Mar 02, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
Hunter Fargey had one goal and three assists to lead the Trenton Golden Hawks to a 6-2 victory over the Newmarket Hurricanes. Fargey scored 15:48 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Trenton. Mitch Emerson picked up the assist. Fargey dished an assist on Danny Hanlon's goal that made the score 1-1 at 19:27 into the first period. He then added assists on Emerson's goal at 5:48 into the second and on Hanlon's goal at 18:46 into the second.The win gave Trenton a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series. The Golden Hawks forced Hurricanes' netminders to work in net, finishing with 32 shots and forcing 26 saves. Dalton Ewing made 19 stops and Aidan Doak made seven. Trenton stifled Newmarket's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Trenton also got points from Emerson, who also finished with one goal and two assists and Hanlon, who also grabbed two goals and one assist. Others who scored for Trenton included Jordan Chard and Jordan DaSilva, who scored one goal each. In addition, Trenton received assists from Kevin Lavoie, Blayne Oliver, Adam Clements, Keaton Ratcliffe, Josh Allan, and Curtis Harvey, who each chipped in one. The Hurricanes were helped by Steve Mariani, who registered one goal and one assist. Mariani scored 3:03 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Newmarket. Owen Ramsay assisted on the tally. Jesse Tucker also scored for Newmarket. Daniel Urbani recorded 15 saves for the Golden Hawks. Trenton incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Newmarket incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
