Schweda's hat trick boosts Port Perry over Clarington, 4-3

The Clarington Eagles could not stop the Port Perry Mojacks' Kyle Schweda, who tallied a hat trick in a 4-3 win.

Schweda's first goal came 7:46 into the first period. He then added goals at 19:11 into the first and at 2:00 into the third.

The win by Port Perry clinched the best of seven series at 4-1.

Clarington was unable to stop the Mojacks from sending pucks towards the net, and Port Perry eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

Port Perry also got points from Lucas Clark, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, Port Perry received assists from Lucas Berkers, who had three and Dan Harris and Ethan Ramsden, who each chipped in one.

The Eagles' offense rang up 34 shots on the Mojacks' net.

Clarington was helped by Justin Holiad, who registered one goal. Holiad scored 16:33 into the second period to make the score 3-3. Ben Pitchforth assisted on the tally. Others who scored for Clarington included Liam Rowe and Brent Hambly, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Clarington were Cody Kean, Dan Michel, Patrick McAuliffe, and Brodie Myers, who contributed one each.

Brett Chandler made 31 saves for Port Perry on 34 shots. The Mojacks incurred 36 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Zack Wainman recorded 27 saves for the Eagles. Clarington incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
