Port Perry downs Clarington in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Andrew Pickering gave the Port Perry Mojacks a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Clarington Eagles when he scored 9:52 into the extra period.

The win gave Port Perry a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Mojacks were sparked by Pickering, who finished with one goal.

Clarington was unable to stop Port Perry from sending pucks towards the net, and the Mojacks eventually piled up 40 shots on goal.

Others who scored for Port Perry included Graham Lamers and Lucas Clark, who scored one goal each. In addition, Port Perry received assists from Kyle Schweda, who had two and Ben Sheremeta, Ryan Bernardes, Liam Schweda, and Jeff St. Pierre, who each chipped in one.

The Eagles forced Port Perry goalie Brett Chandler to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots. Clarington got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

The Eagles were helped by William Lamoureux, who grabbed one goal. Lamoureux scored 12:13 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Patrick McAuliffe picked up the assist. Mitchell Marchbank also scored for Clarington. More assists for Clarington came via Cody Kean and Dan Michel, who contributed one each.

The Mojacks' Chandler stopped 47 shots out of the 49 that he faced. Port Perry incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Zack Wainman made 37 saves for Clarington on 40 shots. The Eagles incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
