Miami University survives penalties, beats Massachusetts University of, 4-1

Rachael Booth had two goals to lead Miami University to victory.

RedHawks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Massachusetts University of to score on any of their six power plays.Minutemen's defense shut down Miami University's forwards for much of the game, and Miami University got off only 12 shots during the contest.

Miami University additionally got points from Kaley Mooney, who also registered two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Miami University received assists from Ireland Mooney and Alyssa Visalli, who each chipped in one.

Massachusetts University of did not reach the goal total they has come to expect this season. Minutemen averages 4.5 goals per game.

Massachusetts University of were led by Brittani Lanzilli, who scored the team's only goal. Lanzilli scored in the third period to make the score 3-1 Miami University. Victoria Bortolussi picked up the assist.

Emalee Wills rejected 23 shots on goal for RedHawks. Miami University incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Minutemen's Samantha Baturin stopped four shots out of the seven that he faced. Massachusetts University of incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
