Waterloo wins tough contest against Listowel, 4-3

After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, Listowel faces elimination next time out.

The teams traded the lead four times and neither team could skate away and hide.

Waterloo were paced by Nate Schnarr, who finished with one goal and one assist. Schnarr scored in overtime to make the score 4-3 Waterloo. Joshua Slegers and Conner Jean registered the assists on the goal.

Others who scored for Waterloo included Lucas Goodman, Owen Kipke, and Nick King, who scored one each. More assists for Waterloo came via Slegers, who had three and Anthony Pullicino and Jean, who contributed one apiece.

Cyclones's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.Listowel kept Waterloo's goalie busy throughout the game, and Mitchell Datz made 44 saves on 47 shots.Cyclones were held back by their power play unit, which tallied two goals on 12 chances.

Listowel were helped by Kade Landry, who tallied one goal.Landry scored on the power play in the second period to make the score 2-2 . Jamie Huber assisted on the tally.Listowel also had goals scored by Brady Anderson, Corey Flemington, and Landry, who each put in one. In addition, Listowel received assists from Huber, who had two and Keaton Willis, Chayse Herrfort, and Jakob Lee, who each chipped in one.

Waterloo incurred 46 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Cyclones incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
