Stoney Creek wins tough contest against Dundas, 7-5

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Stoney Creek Generals escaped with a 7-5 victory over the Dundas Real McCoys.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Ryan O Marra's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, Dundas faces elimination next time out.

Andrew Radjenovic had two goals and one assist to lead Stoney Creek. Radjenovic scored the first of his two goals at 6:36 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Stoney Creek. Radjenovic's next tally made the score 6-4 Stoney Creek with 3:58 left in the third period. Jarrett Konkle picked up the assist.

The Generals forced the Real McCoys goalie Mike Mole to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots.

Stoney Creek additionally got points from Dylan Quaile, who also registered one goal and one assist and Jordan Morrison, who also had one goal and one assist. Stoney Creek also had goals scored by Mike Ruberto and Nathan Pageau, who each put in one. In addition, Stoney Creek received assists from Nikola Bibic and Justin Donati, who contributed one each and Tyler Donati and Matt Ruberto, who each chipped in two.

Stoney Creek was unable to stop Dundas from sending pucks towards the net, and the Real McCoys eventually piled up 43 shots on goal. Dundas did not rack up many penalties in the contest, registering a minimal one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

The Real McCoys were helped by Matthew Bragg, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Bragg scored 15:45 into the third period to make the score 5-4 Stoney Creek. Dan Lapointe assisted on the tally. Dundas also got points from Cam Watson, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Lapointe, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Dundas included Jeff White and Brad Bonello, who scored one goal each. More assists for Dundas came via Trevor Atkinson, who had one, Chris Hulit, who had two, and Shawn Snider, who had three.

Daniel Svedin recorded 38 saves for the Generals. Stoney Creek incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Mike Mole made 35 saves for Dundas on 41 shots. The Real McCoys registered one goal on two power play opportunities.
