Caledonia rips Pelham, 9-0

The Pelham Panthers had trouble finding ways to stop the Caledonia Corvairs, which beat Panthers, 9-0.

After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, Pelham faces elimination next time out.

Corey Pawley was all over the ice for Caledonia, as he tallied two goals and two assists in the win. Pawley scored the first of his two goals at 13:46 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Caledonia. Bailey Fletcher picked up the assist. Pawley's next tally made the score 3-0 Caledonia with 19:50 left in the third period. Mitchell Fitzmorris provided the assist.

The Corvairs' penalty kill excelled, as Caledonia gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

The Corvairs stifled the Panthers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Caledonia's offense rang up 80 shots on Pelham's net.

Caledonia also got points from Fletcher, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Fitzmorris, who also racked up three goals and two assists to lead the team in points, Chadd Bauman, who also had one goal and one assist, and Matthew Hore, who also tallied one goal and three assists. Matt McCartney also scored for Caledonia. Other players who recorded assists for Caledonia were Davis Brown, Blake Luscombe, Matt Rimac, Quentin Maksimovich, and Tait Seguin, who contributed one each and Daniel Volpe and Tyler Hill, who each chipped in two.

The Panthers did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 10 shots on net to force 10 saves.

Stephen Tierney (APJ) made two saves before being replaced by Liam Conway, who took the win and made eight saves. The Corvairs incurred 34 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Stephen Harvey recorded 71 saves for Pelham. The Panthers incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
