Hore nets hat trick, leads Caledonia to 14-0 win over Pelham

A hat trick by Matthew Hore was the highlight in Corvairs' 14-0 win against the Pelham Panthers.

Hore got on the scoresheet 4:32 into the first period. He then added goals at 15:12 into the second and at 5:35 into the third.

The win gave the Caledonia Corvairs a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The game was close after the first frame, but Caledonia banged in eight goals during the second period to put the victory out of reach for Pelham.

The Corvairs forced the Panthers' goalies to work between the pipes, racking up 81 shots and forcing 67 saves. Stephen Harvey made 48 stops and Tyler Caruana made 19. Caledonia excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Caledonia also got points from Davis Brown, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Bailey Fletcher, who also had one goal and one assist, Blake Luscombe, who also registered one goal and four assists, Daniel Volpe, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Jordan Brown, who also had one goal and three assists, Tyler Hill, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Corey Pawley, who also finished with one goal and five assists to lead the team in points, and Quentin Maksimovich, who also registered one goal and three assists. Caledonia also got a goal from Matt McCartney as well. More assists for Caledonia came via Chadd Bauman, who had three and Mitch Graham, Mark Sinclair, Tait Seguin, and Todd Ratchford, who contributed one each.

Pelham did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting nine shots on net to force nine saves.

Mark Sinclair made nine saves for the Corvairs on nine shots. Caledonia incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Panthers incurred 48 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
