Quentin Maksimovich registered one point to lead the Caledonia Corvairs to a 9-1 victory over the Pelham Panthers. The win gave Caledonia a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series. The Corvairs forced Pelham goalie Stephen Harvey to work between the pipes, taking 79 shots. Caledonia additionally got points from Blake Luscombe, who also racked up two goals and one assist, Mitch Graham, who also had one goal and one assist, Matt McCartney, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Tait Seguin, who also registered one goal and one assist. Caledonia also got a goal from Tyler Hill as well. In addition, Caledonia received assists from Corey Pawley, who had three, Ryan Moran, Matt Rimac, Chadd Bauman, and Todd Ratchford, who each chipped in one, and Jacob Bianchi, Daniel Volpe, and Matthew Hore, who contributed two each. Caledonia's defense shut down the Panthers' forwards for much of the game, and Pelham got off only nine shots during the contest. The Panthers were led by Dylan Cancilla, who scored the team's only goal. Cancilla scored on the power play 17:52 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Pelham. Pelham had gotten the advantage when the Corvairs' Johnathon Schaefer was sent off for interference. Thomas Young assisted on the tally. Mark Sinclair rejected eight shots on goal for Caledonia. The Corvairs incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Harvey recorded 70 saves for the Panthers. Pelham incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
