Ridley College completes comeback, beats Nichols School, 4-3

Undaunted by a two-goal deficit, the Ridley College Tigers battled back to claim a 4-3 victory over the Nichols School Vikings.

Ridley College let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. The Tigers took a 1-0 advantage on a goal by Carson Edwardson at 8:46 in the first period. Ridley College found itself down 3-1 after Nichols School's Brett Willits put the puck home short handed at 5:14 in the third period. After tying things up at 3-3 on a goal by Edwardson at 12:33 in the third, the Tigers got the game-winner from Cameron Beaudry at 19:05 in the third period.

Edwardson and Beaudry provided the spark for Ridley College, combining for three goals and one assist. Edwardson tallied two goals and one assist and Beaudry also added one goal.

The Vikings were unable to stop the Tigers from sending pucks towards the net, and Ridley College eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. The Tigers' power play unit failed to produce, and was held to zero goals on nine chances.

Ridley College also got points from Matvey Skripchenko, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Ridley College were Andrew McIntyre, who had two and Brandon Skubel and Connor Hill, who contributed one each.

Nichols School stifled Ridley College's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Vikings could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 20 minutes in penalties during the game.

Nichols School was led by Cole Donhauser, who finished with two goals. Donhauser scored the first of his two goals at 8:22 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Donhauser's next tally made the score 2-1 Nichols School with 6:33 left in the second period. The Vikings earned a power play opportunity when Riley McCourt was put in the box for checking from behind. Anthony Scanzuso picked up the assist. In addition, Nichols School received assists from Lucas Herrmann, who had one.

Chris McGonigle recorded 15 saves for the Tigers. Ridley College incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Tigers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and McCourt was ejected from the game. Nichols School's Josh Graziano stopped 32 shots out of the 36 that he faced. The Vikings registered one goal on six power play opportunities. For Nichols School, Erik Urbank was ejected from the game.
