Blenheim falls to Amherstburg in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Amherstburg Integrity Admirals' Kasey Basile scored 2:36 into overtime to beat the Blenheim Blades, 4-3 (OT).

With the win, Amherstburg evened the series at 2-2 in the best of seven showdown.

The Integrity Admirals nearly gave up a two-score lead. Amherstburg made it 2-0 on a goal by Dylan Muzzatti at 8:19 in the first period. Blenheim pulled to within 2-1 on a goal by Dustin Maines at 2:12 in the third period.

The Integrity Admirals were led by Basile, who registered one goal.

Amherstburg put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Blades to score on any of their five power plays. The Integrity Admirals forced Blenheim goalie Klinton Kenney to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

Others who scored for Amherstburg included Ryan Wismer and Travis Campbell, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Amherstburg were Ryan Holzel, Ryan Alexander, Broden Meloche, and Luke Gangnon, who each chipped in one and James Brooks and Jordan Luciw, who contributed two each.

The Blades' offense rang up 39 shots on Amherstburg's net.

Blenheim was led by Drew Marlatt, who finished with one goal and one assist. Marlatt scored 6:43 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Brayden Hopkins provided the assist. Blenheim additionally got points from Hopkins, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, Blenheim received assists from George Wood, Matt Clark, Kirk McKillop, and Braeden Allore, who each chipped in one.

Connor Meyerink made 36 saves for the Integrity Admirals on 39 shots. Amherstburg incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Blades' Kenney stopped 36 shots out of the 40 that he faced. Blenheim incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
