Blenheim downs Amherstburg in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Blenheim Blades pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Amherstburg Integrity Admirals on a clutch goal by Nick Delyzer.

The win gave Blenheim a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Blades were led by Delyzer, who racked up one goal and one assist. Delyzer scored 9:30 into overtime to make the score 4-3 Blenheim. Eric Stewardson picked up the assist.

Blenheim's offense rang up 33 shots on Amherstburg's net. The defensemen of the Blades were also effective in the Integrity Admirals' zone, and came away with two goals.

Blenheim also got points from Brayden Hopkins, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Blenheim included Lucas Hickey and Braeden Allore, who each put in one. In addition, Blenheim received assists from Matt Clark, Zack Horvath, Kier Cumming, and Drew Marlatt, who each chipped in one.

Amherstburg was helped by Luke Gangnon, who finished with one goal. Gangnon scored 15:49 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Dean Patterson provided the assist. Amherstburg additionally got points from Caleb Paquette, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Amherstburg also got a goal from Kasey Basile as well. Other players who recorded assists for Amherstburg were James Brooks and Chad Copeland, who contributed one each.

Eric Stewardson made 23 saves for Blenheim on 26 shots. The Blades incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Integrity Admirals' Connor Meyerink stopped 29 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Amherstburg incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
