Bonello's hat trick boosts Dundas over Thorold, 6-1JL Grightmire Arena Fri, Feb 19, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
A hat trick by Brad Bonello was the highlight in Real McCoys' 6-1 win against the Thorold Athletics. Bonello's first goal came 9:16 into the first period. He then added goals at 11:23 into the first and at 14:14 into the first.After the loss made the series score 1-0 in the best of three series, Thorold faces elimination next time out. The Athletics were stymied by the Dundas Real McCoys' netminder Mike Mole, who stopped 38 shots during the victory. The solid play of Mole will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.5. Dundas forced Thorold goalie Colin Dunne to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. The Real McCoys got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game. Dundas also got a goal from Jeff White as well. In addition, Dundas received assists from Jordan Foreman, who had one, Dan Lapointe, who had three, and Cam Watson, Chris Hulit, Jake Laplante, and Steve Hurst, who contributed two each. Dundas was unable to stop the Athletics from sending pucks towards the net, and Thorold eventually piled up 39 shots on goal. The Real McCoys incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. For Dundas, Brent Vandenberg was ejected from the game. Dunne rejected 26 shots on goal for the Athletics. Thorold incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
