Ottawa outlasts Kemptville, 4-2

Ottawa were led by Dean Hewines, who tallied one goal. Hewines scored on the power play in the third period to make the score 3-2 Ottawa . Jim Pearson claimed the first assist on the goal, and Greg Meireles got the second.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 19:36 into the first period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Senators put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Kemptville to score on any of their five power plays.Ottawa kept 73s's goalie busy throughout the game, and Nicholas Hodgins made 64 saves on 68 shots.

Ottawa also got points from Sean Rappleyea, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Ottawa included Jody Sullivan and Alexandre Way, who scored one each. More assists for Ottawa came via Meireles, who had two and Daniel Sarracco, Cameron White, and Pearson, who contributed one apiece.

Kemptville were helped by Bobby Dow, who registered one goal.Dow scored in the third period to make the score 2-2 . The score was assisted by Alex Row and Quinn Wichers.Kemptville additionally got points from Wichers, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Dow also scored for Kemptville. In addition, Kemptville received assists from Tyson Kirkby, Row, and Tyler Beauparlant, who each chipped in one.

Senators' Ian Andriano stopped 21 shots out of the 23 that he faced. Ottawa totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 2-for-6 on the power play. Senators ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Brett Van Stralen was ejected from the game. 73s ended with 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. For Kemptville, Liam Watson was ejected from the game.
