Davison leads New Hamburg over Paris, 6-1Wilmot Recreation Complex Sat, Feb 20, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
Walker Davison was all over the ice for the New Hamburg Firebirds, as he tallied two goals and one assist in New Hamburg's 6-1 win over the Paris Mounties. Davison's tallies came at 15:33 into the second period to make the score 2-0 New Hamburg and 19:41 into the third to make the score 6-1 New Hamburg.The win gave the Firebirds a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series. Paris was stymied by New Hamburg's netminder Ryan Purcell, who stopped 28 shots during the victory. Purcell certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.0 entering the contest. The Mounties were unable to stop the Firebirds from sending pucks towards the net, and New Hamburg eventually piled up 37 shots on goal. New Hamburg also got points from Andrew Boer, who also registered one goal and one assist. New Hamburg also got a goal from Mario Alyas as well. In addition, New Hamburg received assists from Quinten Haddock, who had two and Ethan Adair, Tyler Kleine, Tyler Randerson, Tyler Hoffman, and Carter Tracey, who contributed one each. Paris was led by Graham Evans, who scored the team's only goal. Evans scored on the power play 7:40 into the third period to make the score 3-1 New Hamburg. A cross checking penalty on Randerson had put the Mounties on the power play. Griffin Heitshu picked up the assist. The Firebirds incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors. Hayden Padalino made 31 saves for Paris on 35 shots. The Mounties incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
