The Port Hope Panthers had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-2 win over the Gananoque Islanders.

The win gave Port Hope a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Panthers got the win thanks to a great game by Dalton Lawrence, who had two goals and one assist. Lawrence scored the first of his two goals at 6:56 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Port Hope. Ben Grieve provided the assist. Lawrence's next tally made the score 2-0 Port Hope with 8:44 left in the first period. Port Hope had gotten the advantage when Gananoque's Nic Stafford was sent off for roughing. Cameron McGill picked up the assist.

The Panthers forced the Islanders goalie Quinn Cota to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.
