Mount Forest beats Kincardine 3-2 after comeback scare

The Kincardine Bulldogs tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Mount Forest Patriots would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2.

Mount Forest made the score 3-1 on a goal by Trevor Hughson at 19:03 in the second period, and Kincardine got as close as 3-2 when Keegan Angel scored 7:28 into the third period.

The win moved the Patriots to down 2-1 in the best of seven series.

Hughson had two goals to lead Mount Forest to victory.

The Patriots excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Mount Forest also got a goal from Kyle Hunter as well. More assists for Mount Forest came via Liam Francis, Blair Butchart, Doug Costanzo, Troy Oakley, Shawn Lantz, and Ty Jackson, who contributed one each.

Shane Vollmer also scored for Kincardine. In addition, Kincardine received assists from Dalton Hnatko, Luke Czuczman, Brett Burrows, and Mike Osadca, who each chipped in one.

Mathieu Oullette rejected 26 shots on goal for Mount Forest. The Patriots incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Jacob Hutchings recorded 24 saves for the Bulldogs. Kincardine incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
