The Mitchell Hawks tried to dig themselves out of a four-goal hole, but the Walkerton Hawks held on for a 4-2 victory. A goal by Reid Simmons put Walkerton up 4-0 in the third period, but Mitchell pulled to within two on Wil Marcy's tally 19:27 into the third period. The win by the Hawks clinched the best of seven series at 4-1. Brooks Nelthorpe was all over the ice for Walkerton, as he registered two goals in the win. Nelthorpe's tallies came at 5:03 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Walkerton and 11:36 into the second to make the score 2-0 Walkerton. The Hawks stifled the Hawks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Walkerton forced Mitchell goalie Brock Baier to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. The Hawks' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Walkerton also got points from Simmons, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Walkerton also got a goal from Tyler Cunningham as well. More assists for Walkerton came via Connor Patton, who had two and Braden Boley, Josh Deyell, and Lauchlin Elder, who each chipped in one. The Hawks kept Walkerton's goalie busy throughout the game, and Nick Redman made 34 saves on 36 shots. Mitchell additionally got points from Jake Finlayson, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Mitchell received assists from Jalen Aitcheson, Garrett James, and Chad Lemire, who contributed one each. The Hawks incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Mitchell's Baier stopped 33 shots out of the 37 that he faced. The Hawks incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
