The Walkerton Hawks relied on the scoring touch of Brendan Welsh, who netted two goals, to beat the Mitchell Hawks, 3-1. Welsh scored on the power play at 1:22 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Walkerton and again while 19:51 into the third to make the score 3-1 Walkerton.The win gave Walkerton a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series. Mitchell was stymied by the Hawks' netminder Nick Redman, who stopped 29 shots during the victory. Redman certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.0 entering the contest.
