Minnesota University of uses early goal to top Colorado State University, 1-0

The Minnesota University of Golden Gophers took the lead against the Colorado State University Rams in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 1-0 victory.

Kristina Anderson provided Minnesota University of with the game-winning tally when he scored 4:50 into the first period. Lauren Kirchoff provided the assist.

The Golden Gophers were boosted by Lydia Norwig, who turned in a shutout with 26 saves. The solid play of Norwig will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 1.66.

Minnesota University of was led by Anderson, who racked up one goal.

The Golden Gophers could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Minnesota University of puts an average of 3.9 pucks into the net per game.

Colorado State University's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Minnesota University of power plays. The Rams did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Colorado State University averages 2.9 goals per game.
