The Michigan State University Spartans could not stop the Michigan University of Wolverines' Jennifer Cusmano, who tallied a hat trick in a 5-1 win.

Cusmano's first goal came 2:20 into the first period. He then added goals at 16:56 into the second and at 19:57 into the second.

Michigan University of was led by goalie Julia Chenoweth, who finished with 29 saves while allowing one goal. Chenoweth managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.09 prior to the game.
