Paris blows out Woodstock, 4-1Woodstock Community Center Sun, Feb 14, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
The Paris Mounties had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-1 win over the Woodstock Navy Vets. The win by Paris clinched the best of seven series at 4-2. The Mounties were led by goalie Hayden Padalino, who finished with 29 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Padalino will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.25. Paris pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 24 penalty minutes. The Mounties were helped by Graham Evans, who grabbed one goal. Evans scored 23 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-0 Paris. Mikael Ruffini also scored for Paris. More assists for Paris came via Richard Brooks, Ryan Stephenson, and Cole Corriveau, who contributed one each. Woodstock was led by Dylan Wettlaufer, who scored the team's only goal. Wettlaufer scored on the power play 19:49 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Paris. A tripping penalty on Connor Purbrick had put the Navy Vets on the power play. Chris Thompson assisted on the tally. Paris registered one goal on zero power play opportunities. North Davies recorded 26 saves for Woodstock. The Navy Vets totaled seven minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major and went 1-for-7 on the power play. Woodstock ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jake Schneider was ejected from the game.
