In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Paris Mounties escaped with a 4-2 victory over the Woodstock Navy Vets. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Graham Evans secured the win for Paris with a goal in the third period. The win moved the Mounties to down 2-1 in the best of seven series. Paris was paced by Evans, who racked up one goal. Evans scored 7:21 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Paris. Brady Wheelans picked up the assist. The Mounties excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Paris forced Woodstock goalie Mike Harrison to work between the pipes, taking 46 shots. Others who scored for Paris included Keegan Alvestad, Ryan Stephenson, and Cole Corriveau, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Paris were Patrick Snell, who had two and Mikael Ruffini and Brayden Lane, who each chipped in one. The Navy Vets were helped by Tyler Arsenault, who tallied one goal. Arsenault scored 18:56 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Woodstock. Woodstock also got a goal from Dan Haig as well. In addition, Woodstock received assists from Austin Richardson, who had one. Davis McLean recorded 25 saves for the Mounties. Paris incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Mike Harrison made 42 saves for Woodstock on 46 shots. The Navy Vets incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. |
