Lakeshore beats Mooretown 4-3 after comeback scareAtlas Centre Fri, Feb 19, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
The Mooretown Flags tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Lakeshore Canadiens held on for a 4-3 victory. Lakeshore made the score 4-2 on a goal by Jarrett Tazzman at 15:52 in the third period, and Mooretown got as close as 4-3 when Joe DeSena scored 19:19 into the third period. With the win, the Canadiens avoided elimination to make the series score 3-3 in the best of seven series. Lakeshore was sparked by Tazzman, who grabbed one goal. The Canadiens took advantage of the Flags' penalties, tallying three goals off of five power play opportunities. Lakeshore also had goals scored by Steven Sartor, JJ Percy, and Sebastian Kanally, who scored one goal each. In addition, Lakeshore received assists from Hunter Corp, who had one and Zack Bedard, Blake Rutckyj, and Logan Percy, who contributed two each. Mooretown was helped by Matt Brandon, who tallied one goal and one assist. Brandon scored on the power play 4:35 into the second period to make the score 1-1. The Flags had gotten the advantage when Lakeshore's Brandon Ireland was sent off for high sticking. Ryan Lyle provided the assist. Mooretown additionally got points from DeSena, who also had one goal and one assist. Mooretown also got a goal from Cameron Rannie as well. More assists for Mooretown came via Trevor Bogaert, who had one. Colin Lauzon made 26 saves for the Canadiens on 29 shots. Lakeshore incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Mooretown's Brandon Johnson stopped 26 shots out of the 30 that he faced. The Flags incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
