The Mount Forest Patriots had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-1 win over the Hanover Barons. After the loss made the series score 3-2 in the best of seven series, Hanover faces elimination next time out. Troy Oakley had one goal and two assists to lead Mount Forest. Oakley scored 4:29 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Mount Forest. Riley OConnell provided the assist. The Patriots were led by goalie Mathieu Oullette, who finished with 45 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Oullette will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.71. Mount Forest excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. The Patriots kept the Barons' goalie busy throughout the game, and Cody Van der Heide made 33 saves on 38 shots. Mount Forest also had goals scored by Doug Costanzo, who had two and Brandon Richardson and Brendon Aitken, who each put in one. More assists for Mount Forest came via Doug Ardis, Michael Stefanelli, and Shawn Lantz, who contributed one each. Hanover forced Mount Forest goalie Oullette to work between the pipes, taking 46 shots. The Barons were led by Cole Leslie, who scored the team's only goal. Leslie scored 7:31 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Mount Forest. Denver Hill assisted on the tally. The Patriots incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors. Hanover incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
