Kincardine blows out Goderich, 6-3

The Kincardine Bulldogs had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-3 win over the Goderich Flyers.

The win gave Kincardine a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Goderich's power play was ineffective against the Bulldogs' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

Kincardine's offense rang up 38 shots on the Flyers' net.

The Bulldogs were helped by Gerrit Satosek, who tallied one goal. Satosek scored short handed 19:23 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Kincardine. Kincardine was on a disadvantage when Brady Richards went off the ice for holding. Matthew Mah picked up the assist. Kincardine also got points from Shane Vollmer, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Derrick Bernath, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Kincardine also had goals scored by Shawn Rooke, Tyler Fregona, and Brett Burrows, who scored one goal each. More assists for Kincardine came via Dalton Hnatko and Shawn Moore, who each chipped in two.

Goderich's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Kincardine power plays.

The Flyers were led by Luke Fraser, who had one goal and two assists. Fraser scored on the power play 16:08 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Kincardine. Goderich had gotten the advantage when the Bulldogs' Keegan Angel was sent off for inciting an opponent. Goderich additionally got points from Trent Michie, who also registered one goal and one assist. Brandon Priestap also scored for Goderich. In addition, Goderich received assists from Drew McKee, who had one.

Jacob Hutchings rejected 16 shots on goal for Kincardine. The Bulldogs incurred 38 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Nathan Watson made 32 saves for the Flyers on 38 shots. Goderich incurred 56 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
