Max Viselli had two goals and three assists to lead the Essex 73s to a 6-0 victory over the Alvinston Flyers. Viselli scored at 13:29 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Essex and again while 9:04 into the second to make the score 5-0 Essex.The win gave Essex a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series. The 73s were boosted by Trevor Wheaton, who turned in a shutout with 25 saves. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 19:30 into the first period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. Essex excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Alvinston was unable to stop the 73s from sending pucks towards the net, and Essex eventually piled up 48 shots on goal. Essex also got points from Tyler Boughner, who also registered two goals and two assists. Others who scored for Essex included Brett Vorshuk and Dalton Langlois, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Essex were Riley Meyerink, Adam Gaiarin, Cody Leeming, Anthony Cristofaro, Tyler Scott, and Phil Janikowski, who each chipped in one. The Flyers stifled the 73s' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Essex totaled 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors and two majors and went 0-for-3 on the power play. For the 73s, Vorshuk and Dallas Pereira were ejected from the contest. Matt Boere made 42 saves for Alvinston on 48 shots. The Flyers ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. For Alvinston, Zach VanEyk was ejected from the game.
