The Mitchell Hawks pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Wingham Ironmen on a clutch goal by Nathan Templeman. After the loss made the series score 3-2 in the best of seven series, Wingham faces elimination next time out. Mitchell got the win behind a great game by Templeman, who had two goals and one assist. Templeman scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 8:43 into the second period to make the score 1-1. The Hawks had gotten the advantage when the Ironmen's JJ Harland was sent off for slashing. Jalen Aitcheson picked up the assist. Templeman's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Mitchell with 15:38 left in overtime. Aitcheson assisted on the tally. Wingham's power play was ineffective against Mitchell's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. The Hawks kept the Ironmen's goalie busy throughout the game, and Ben Nelson made 43 saves on 46 shots. Mitchell additionally got points from Aitcheson, who also racked up one goal and two assists. More assists for Mitchell came via Wil Marcy, Garrett James, and Trevor MacDonald, who each chipped in one. Wingham forced Mitchell goalie Brock Baier to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. The Ironmen were led by Mitch Deelstra, who grabbed two goals. Deelstra scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 6:22 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Wingham. Wingham had gained a power play chance when Zach Goodhew was whistled for cross checking. Jayden Landry picked up the assist. Deelstra's next tally on the power play made the score 2-1 Wingham with 6:41 left in the third period. Jarod Logan provided the assist. Baier recorded 35 saves for the Hawks. Mitchell incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. The Hawks ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jake Finlayson was ejected from the game. The Ironmen incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
