Templeman's goals lift Mitchell to 4-1 victory over Wingham

Behind a great game by Nathan Templeman, who had two goals, the Mitchell Hawks defeated the Wingham Ironmen, 4-1.

Templeman scored at 7:25 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Mitchell and again while on the power play 10:38 into the third to make the score 3-1 Mitchell.

With the win, Mitchell evened the series at 1-1 in the best of seven showdown.

The Hawks forced Wingham goalie Ben Nelson to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. Mitchell was held back by its power play unit, which tallied two goals on 10 chances.

Mitchell also got points from Jalen Aitcheson, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Jake Finlayson, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Mitchell were Garrett James, who had two and Trevor Skinner, Haydn Favacho, and Chace Duckworth, who each chipped in one.

The Ironmen were led by Keifer MacInnes, who scored the team's only goal. MacInnes scored 9:28 into the second period to make the score 1-1. JJ Harland picked up the assist.

Brock Baier rejected 19 shots on goal for the Hawks. Mitchell incurred 34 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Ben Nelson made 29 saves for Wingham on 33 shots. The Ironmen incurred 50 minutes in penalty time with 15 minors.
