NA3HL 18U Selects Black uses shootout to best West, 3-2

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as NA3HL 18U Selects Black defeated West in a shootout 3-2.

The shootout featured 16 attempts between both teams. West got shootout goals from Jacob Drinkard and Austin Langworthy. NA3HL 18U Selects Black also got shootout goals from Ricards Bernhards and Bryce Fisk.

NA3HL 18U Selects Black did not rack up many penalties in the contest, finishing with only one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

NA3HL 18U Selects Black was helped by Nick Mooney, who registered one goal. Mooney scored 19:06 into the first period to make the score 2-1 NA3HL 18U Selects Black. Ben Ratner assisted on the tally. Bernhards also scored for NA3HL 18U Selects Black. In addition, NA3HL 18U Selects Black received assists from Tristin Snyder, who had one.

West kept NA3HL 18U Selects Black's goalie busy throughout the game, and Max McConnell made 34 saves on 36 shots. West did not rack up many penalties in the contest, registering a minimal one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

West was helped by Lucas Carroll, who finished with one goal. Carroll scored 13:10 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Casey Esselman picked up the assist. West also got a goal from Jared Erickson as well. Other players who recorded assists for West were Paul Stehr, Joe Costello, and Tommy Giller, who contributed one each.

NA3HL 18U Selects Black registered zero goals on one power play opportunities. West took out Mac Berglove after he had made nine saves and installed Wes Paupore in goal, where he finished with 13 saves and the sol. West registered zero goals on one power play opportunities.
