Graziano stymies Appleby College, Nichols School wins 3-1Dann Memorial Wed, Jan 20, 2016 The Nichols School Vikings relied on the sparkling performance of Josh Graziano in net to grab a 3-1 win against the Appleby College Blue Dogs. Nichols School was led by Cole Donhauser, who registered one goal. Donhauser scored 11:52 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Nichols School. Anthony Scanzuso picked up the assist. The Vikings forced Appleby College goalie Nicolas Solari to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. Nichols School also got points from Erik Urbank, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Nichols School also got a goal from Brett Willits as well. Other players who recorded assists for Nichols School were Tom Elia, who had one. The Blue Dogs put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Nichols School to score on any of its three power plays. Appleby College was led by Adam Scholz, who scored the team's only goal. Scholz scored on the power play 19:38 into the first period to make the score 1-1. A hooking penalty on Elia had put the Blue Dogs on the power play. Callum Jones assisted on the tally. Graziano recorded 26 saves for the Vikings. Nichols School incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Appleby College's Solari stopped 38 shots out of the 40 that he faced. The Blue Dogs incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
