Meijer AAA 18U gutted out a close 4-3 win against Esmark Stars 18U. Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Jacob Stallings's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker. Meijer AAA 18U got the win behind a great game by Tyrone Bronte, who had one goal and two assists. Bronte scored 14:34 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Meijer AAA 18U. In the losing effort, Esmark Stars 18U was led by Ben Friedland, who registered two goals and one assist. Friedland scored the first of his two goals at 6:02 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Tanner Orr assisted on the tally. Friedland's next tally made the score 3-3 with 7:37 left in the second period. Ty Rickabaugh picked up the assist. Meijer AAA 18U forced Esmark Stars 18U's goalies to work between the pipes, firing 33 shots and forcing 29 saves. Joseph Hubert made 20 stops and William Lowe III made nine. Meijer AAA 18U put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Esmark Stars 18U to score on any of its five power plays. Meijer AAA 18U also got points from Caleb Hite, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Meijer AAA 18U also got a goal from Ryan Hein as well. Esmark Stars 18U excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Cam Williams also scored for Esmark Stars 18U. More assists for Esmark Stars 18U came via Austin Martz and Zach Gielarowski, who each chipped in one. Colt Hanks recorded 24 saves for Meijer AAA 18U.
