Omaha AAA 16U and Meijer AAA 16U were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Omaha AAA 16U made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2. Omaha AAA 16U gained the winning advantage on a goal by Austin Nault 4:10 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer. Meijer AAA 16U's power play was ineffective against Omaha AAA 16U's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. Omaha AAA 16U was sparked by Nault, who tallied one goal. Omaha AAA 16U stifled Meijer AAA 16U's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Omaha AAA 16U's offense rang up 38 shots on Meijer AAA 16U's net. Omaha AAA 16U also got points from Gabe Wahl, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Nicholas Doyle also scored for Omaha AAA 16U. In addition, Omaha AAA 16U received assists from Kendrick Frost, Sam Renlund, and Reg Pohl, who each chipped in one. Meijer AAA 16U's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Omaha AAA 16U power plays. Meijer AAA 16U could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game. Meijer AAA 16U was helped by Bradley Postula, who grabbed one goal. Postula scored 10:25 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Meijer AAA 16U. Tobin Bachusz picked up the assist. Meijer AAA 16U also got a goal from Matt Stokes as well. James Durham made 35 saves for Meijer AAA 16U on 38 shots.
