Omaha AAA 18U uses early goal to top Esmark Stars 18U, 2-1

Jaden Anderson scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and Omaha AAA 18U held off the challenges of Esmark Stars 18U in a tough 2-1 win.

A goal 6:31 into the first period by Anderson proved to be the game winner, and powered Omaha AAA 18U to the victory. Omaha AAA 18U had gotten the advantage when Esmark Stars 18U's Shane Riley was sent off for interference. Shayne Monahan assisted on the tally.

Omaha AAA 18U's Gavin Hubbard was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 34 saves and let only one puck past him. Despite the solid performance, Hubbard will actually see his goals against average rise, as it stood at 1.18 entering the contest.

Omaha AAA 18U was led by Jack LeBlanc, who had one goal. LeBlanc scored 7:29 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Omaha AAA 18U. Dylan McDonald picked up the assist.

Omaha AAA 18U stifled Esmark Stars 18U's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Omaha AAA 18U kept Esmark Stars 18U's goalie busy throughout the game, and William Lowe III made 39 saves on 41 shots.

Esmark Stars 18U forced Omaha AAA 18U goalie Hubbard to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

Esmark Stars 18U was led by Michael Lamison, who scored the team's only goal. Lamison scored 12:49 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Omaha AAA 18U. Tanner Orr provided the assist.

Omaha AAA 18U incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Esmark Stars 18U incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
