Ridley College survives Appleby College comeback, wins 3-1H.C. Griffith Complex - Ridley Wed, Dec 02, 2015 The Ridley College Tigers came close to giving away a three-goal lead to the Appleby College Blue Dogs, but did just enough to escape with a 3-1 victory. Ridley College led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Tigers' Zack McGrath scored at 5:20 in the second period to put Ridley College up 3-0. The Tigers' penalty kill excelled, as Ridley College gave up zero goals despite allowing nine power plays. The Tigers were led by Thomas DiSebastiano, who finished with one goal and one assist. DiSebastiano scored 11:58 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Ridley College. Will Cowherd picked up the assist. Ridley College stifled Appleby College's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Tigers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game. Ridley College also got a goal from Matvey Skripchenko as well. Other players who recorded assists for Ridley College were Cole Cameron, who had two and Carson Edwardson and Thomas Dunbar, who contributed one each. The Blue Dogs excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Appleby College's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Blue Dogs finished with 24 penalty minutes. Appleby College was led by Callum Jones, who scored the team's only goal. Jones scored 16:53 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Ridley College. Chris McGonigle made 20 saves for Ridley College on 21 shots. The Blue Dogs' Nicolas Solari stopped 25 shots out of the 28 that he faced.
