Appleby College rides Solari to victory over Ridley College, 2-1

Nicolas Solari stood on his head and made 32 saves to lead the Appleby College Blue Dogs to a 2-1 victory over the Ridley College Tigers.

Appleby College's penalty kill excelled, as the Blue Dogs gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

Appleby College was led by Tommy Hoogaars, who registered one goal and one assist. Hoogaars scored 4:03 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Appleby College. Adam Scholz picked up the assist.

The Blue Dogs stifled Ridley College's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Appleby College forced the Tigers goalie Deacon Lawr to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots. The Blue Dogs could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 40 minutes in penalties during the game.

Appleby College also got a goal from Patrick Vulgan as well. In addition, Appleby College received assists from Blake Mueller and Callum Jones, who each chipped in one.

Ridley College forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 11 minors and one major for 37 minutes in penalty time. The Tigers surpassed its season average of 20.0 penalty minutes per game. Ridley College excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in 11 chances. The Tigers were held below their usual level of production. Ridley College averages 3.9 goals per game. Appleby College was unable to stop the Tigers from sending pucks towards the net, and Ridley College eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

The Tigers were led by Carson Edwardson, who scored the team's only goal. Edwardson scored 3:34 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Ridley College. Hunter Bettens assisted on the tally.

Lawr recorded 34 saves for Ridley College.
