St. Andrews College survives penalties, beats Upper Canada College, 2-1

The Upper Canada College Blues failed to take advantage of their power play opportunities and the St. Andrews College Saints shook off a number of penalties to win, 2-1.

St. Andrews College was led by Lucas Thorne, who racked up one goal. Thorne scored 18:21 into the second period to make the score 2-1 St. Andrews College. Corey Andonovski provided the assist.

The Saints' offense operated below their season average. St. Andrews College puts an average of 5.3 pucks into the net per game. The Saints forced Upper Canada College goalie Luca Imbrogno to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. St. Andrews College could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 14 minutes in penalties during the game.

St. Andrews College also got a goal from Alex MacDonald as well. Other players who recorded assists for St. Andrews College were Connor Ali, Reid Yochim, and Ryan OConnell, who each chipped in one.

The Blues were led by Reid Humphrey, who scored the team's only goal. Humphrey scored on the power play 11:39 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Upper Canada College. Upper Canada College had taken the advantage when the Saints' Noah Lugli got sent off for roughing. Zack Jackson picked up the assist.

St. Andrews College took out Kristian Hufsky after he had made eight saves and installed Cole Chapman in goal, where he finished with 10 saves and the win. The Saints registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Luca Imbrogno made 29 saves for the Blues on 31 shots. Upper Canada College incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
