St. Andrews College wins tough contest against Nichols School, 3-2H.C. Griffith Complex - Ridley Sun, Feb 07, 2016 The St. Andrews College Saints gutted out a close 3-2 win against the Nichols School Vikings. Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Connor Ali's goal in the second period proved to be the difference maker. Ali had a great game for St. Andrews College, netting two goals. The Saints did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. St. Andrews College averages 5.5 goals per game. The Saints' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals. Reid Yochim also scored for St. Andrews College. More assists for St. Andrews College came via Lucas Thorne, Corey Andonovski, and Morgan Barron, who contributed one each. Nichols School stifled St. Andrews College's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Vikings were helped by Steve Senese, who racked up one goal. Senese scored on the power play 18:12 into the first period to make the score 2-2. Nichols School had taken the advantage when the Saints' Felix Cote got sent off for slashing. Cole Donhauser picked up the assist. Nichols School also got points from Donhauser, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, Nichols School received assists from Alec Yerkovich, who had one. St. Andrews College's Cole Chapman stopped 17 shots out of the 19 that he faced. The Saints incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Josh Graziano rejected 22 shots on goal for the Vikings. Nichols School incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
