Upper Canada College outlasts Appleby College, 1-0

The Upper Canada College Blues and the Appleby College Blue Dogs played 60 tight minutes of hockey, but in the end it was Upper Canada College that came away with a 1-0 victory.

Saverio Imbrogno provided the assist on the the contest's only goal.

The Blues were led by Samuel Morin, who registered one goal. Morin scored 9:32 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Upper Canada College. Imbrogno picked up the assist.

Upper Canada College excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Blues' defensive play was more effective than usual against Appleby College. Upper Canada College averages 2.6 goals allowed per game. The Blues found themselves stymied offensively, and got off a mere nine shots against the Blue Dogs' defense.

Appleby College could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Blue Dogs put an average of 2.4 pucks into the net per game. Appleby College's offense was handcuffed by Upper Canada College's defensive play, and the Blue Dogs managed only 10 shots on goal during the game.

Luca Imbrogno rejected 10 shots on goal for the Blues. Upper Canada College incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Nicolas Solari made eight saves for Appleby College on nine shots. The Blue Dogs incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
