Upper Canada College downs St. Michaels College, 6-1

Elliot McDermott registered one point to lead the Upper Canada College Blues to a 6-1 victory over the St. Michaels College Majors.

Upper Canada College outdid its season average for goals scored. The Blues average 3.2 goals per game. Upper Canada College had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just one goal on nine chances. The Blues got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Upper Canada College also got points from Michael Wood, who also had two goals and one assist to lead the team in points and Nik Tsatsos, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Upper Canada College included Cameron Sheehy and Jonathan Thompson, who each put in one. In addition, Upper Canada College received assists from Mo Assaf, Ian Pepin, Brandon Grant, Mats Gavelin, and Jeremy Marco, who each chipped in one.

St. Michaels College was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 36 penalty minutes.

The Majors were led by Jonah Alexander, who scored the team's only goal. Alexander scored 19:46 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Patrick Yau provided the assist.

Upper Canada College incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors. St. Michaels College registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. For the Majors, Nick Salamon was ejected from the game.
