Upper Canada College uses early goal to top St. Michaels College, 4-2Upper Canada College Tue, Jan 12, 2016 Mo Assaf gave the Upper Canada College Blues the lead in the first period, and the St. Michaels College Majors was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 4-2. Assaf provided Upper Canada College with the game-winning tally when he scored 5:27 into the first period. The Blues had gotten the advantage when St. Michaels College's Matt OBrien was sent off for slashing. Keenan Conlon picked up the assist.Assaf had a great game for Upper Canada College, netting two goals. The Blues' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five St. Michaels College power plays. Upper Canada College's offense was handcuffed by the Majors' defensive play, and the Blues managed only 14 shots on goal during the game. Upper Canada College also had goals scored by Brandon Grant and Reid Humphrey, who scored one goal each. More assists for Upper Canada College came via Samuel Morin, Mats Gavelin, and Gabriel Boucher, who contributed one each. St. Michaels College did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 13 shots on net to force 11 saves. The Majors were helped by Adam Plouffe, who tallied one goal. Plouffe scored 16:16 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Upper Canada College. OBrien assisted on the tally. Mac Caruana also scored for St. Michaels College. In addition, St. Michaels College received assists from Evan Scott, Patrick Yau, and Luke Andrews, who each chipped in one. Upper Canada College's Colby Muise stopped 11 shots out of the 13 that he faced. The Blues incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Team's Ryder Thususka and Ian Pepin were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. #$self.jersey rejected 10 shots on goal for St. Michaels College. The Majors incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
