St. Louis AAA Blues (mm) wins tough contest against Thunder AAA Hockey, 4-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, St. Louis AAA Blues (mm) escaped with a 4-2 victory over Thunder AAA Hockey.

St. Louis AAA Blues (mm) gained the winning advantage on a goal by Ben Jones 10:28 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer.

St. Louis AAA Blues (mm) was led by Steven Sieckhaus, who tallied two goals. Sieckhaus scored the first of his two goals at 4:53 into the second period to make the score 1-0 St. Louis AAA Blues (mm). John Serafin provided the assist. Sieckhaus' next tally made the score 4-2 St. Louis AAA Blues (mm) with 2:01 left in the third period. St. Louis AAA Blues (mm) also got a goal from Clayton Dawe as well. Other players who recorded assists for St. Louis AAA Blues (mm) were Logan Ritchie, who had one.

Thunder AAA Hockey's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three St. Louis AAA Blues (mm) power plays. Thunder AAA Hockey did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 11 shots on net to force nine saves.

Thunder AAA Hockey was helped by Chuck Bay, who had two goals. Bay scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 8:15 into the second period to make the score 1-1. A high sticking penalty on Jones had put Thunder AAA Hockey on the power play. Ben Schultheis picked up the assist. Bay's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 St. Louis AAA Blues (mm) with 17:19 left in the third period. Thunder AAA Hockey had taken the advantage when St. Louis AAA Blues (mm)'s Zach Wilson got sent off for high sticking. Marquez Ginger provided the assist. In addition, Thunder AAA Hockey received assists from Jackson Sterrett, who had one.

St. Louis AAA Blues (mm)'s Trevor Smith stopped nine shots out of the 11 that he faced. St. Louis AAA Blues (mm) ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. Neven Dyer took the loss and made 21 saves before being replaced by Mack Guzda who made four saves. Thunder AAA Hockey totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 2-for-4 on the power play.
