Sarah Mayer registered one point to lead the Minnesota University of Golden Gophers to a 4-1 victory over the Wisconsin University of Badgers.

Minnesota University of excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Wisconsin University of was unable to stop the Golden Gophers from sending pucks towards the net, and Minnesota University of eventually piled up 51 shots on goal.

Minnesota University of also got points from Jordan Guggisberg, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Minnesota University of included Jessica Nkhata and Cristi Oliver, who each put in one. In addition, Minnesota University of received assists from Melissa Drown and Megan Bergland, who contributed one each.

The Badgers did not rack up many penalties in the contest, tallying only one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

Molly Westfield recorded 22 saves for the Golden Gophers. Minnesota University of incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Samantha Azuma made 47 saves for Wisconsin University of on 51 shots.
