Vermont University of squeaks by Penn State University, 5-3

The Vermont University of Catamounts and the Penn State University Nitty Lions were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Vermont University of made the most of its opportunities and won, 5-3.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Jennifer Deso at 16:58 of the third period.

Emily Ford and Deso provided the spark for the Catamounts, combining for three goals and one assist. Ford registered two goals and one assist and Deso also added one goal.

Vermont University of bested its season scoring average. This season, the Catamounts average 2.2 goals per contest.
